Recruits attending the STARS Explorer Training Academy may earn achievement ribbons, to be worn on their Class B uniforms.

Academic Achievement
The Academic Achievement ribbon is presented to recruits in each academy class who achieve an academic grade point average (GPA) of 90% or higher. The ribbon is presented after the mid-term exams.

Physical Training Achievement
The Physical Training Achievement ribbon is presented to recruits in each academy class who achieve an average score of 90% after the mid-term P.T. 500 physical training exam.

Flag Detail
The Flag Detail ribbon is presented to recruits selected to be members of the flag detail. The flag details posts and retrieves the colors each Saturday, for the STARS Explorer Academy.

Highest Academic Achiever

Highest P.T. Achiever
The recruit who has achieved the HIGHEST GPA, after the final exams, and the recruit who has achieved the HIGHEST P.T. 500 average score (male & female), after the final exams, shall have a gold star affixed to the center of their corresponding ribbon(s). These recruits shall wear their achievement ribbon(s) during the graduation ceremony and are authorized to wear the ribbon(s) on their uniform after graduation.
All other ribbon recipients shall be permitted to wear their achievement ribbon(s) only during the explorer academy program, and must relinquish it/them prior to the graduation ceremony.

Honor Recruit
The Honor Recruit ribbon is presented to the recruit who is selected by the Staff Sergeant as the Honor Recruit for each class. This ribbon is presented at the graduation ceremony, and shall bear the recruit’s class number affixed to the center of the ribbon.
Achievement ribbons shall be worn on Class B uniforms, lined up and centered on the top seam of the left shirt pocket. The order of the ribbons shall be: Honor Recruit, Academic Achievement, Physical Training Achievement, Flag Detail.
