• In addition to the above assignments, all recruits are strongly encouraged to use any “free time” to review the DT Tactics taught to them by LASD Force training staff during Week 6 (10/11/2025) and Week 8 (10/25/2025), continuously review their notes from past lectures during the academy (retained nearly and chronologically in the recruit’s notebooks), and to continue to maintain and push themselves during personally developed physical training sessions.
• At this point in the Academy Recruits are reminded to acknowledge the following points:
  • Recruits should hold their heads high for earning the right to wear their Class B uniforms and as such, should place high priority on reassessing the condition of their boots and uniforms (including PBA’s) in order to demonstrate supreme command/professional presence at all times.
  • Recruits shall maintain a state of readiness to assume the role of Class Sergeant role by knowing the commands such a prestigious position requires.
  • With the Class Colors Run, recruits are reminded and encouraged to work selflessly and diligently to prepare for the run, which will be in honor of fallen LASD Arson/Explosives Detectives Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Victor Lemus, and William Osborn who heroically sacrificed their lives for the citizens they swore to protect on Friday, July 18, 2025.
    • This includes at a minimum working daily to improve their physical performance and ability in order to effortlessly complete the 4 mile run in their honor.
